Attorneys, churches, nonprofits, social workers, and community advocates often ask us the same question:
“How do I refer someone for housing support?”
DASH Network provides long-term housing and wraparound support for eligible asylum seekers and families willing to relocate to Fort Worth, Texas. Because housing resources are limited, referrals help our team better understand each individual’s situation and determine whether DASH may be a good fit.
Who Can Make a Referral?
Anyone supporting an asylum seeker may submit a referral, including:
- Immigration attorneys
- Accredited representatives
- Churches and faith communities
- Nonprofit organizations
- Social workers and case managers
- Community advocates
- Friends and family members
What Information Should I Have Before Referring Someone?
The more information you can provide, the better our team can evaluate the referral.
Helpful information may include:
- Current location
- Family size
- Immigration status
- Current housing situation
- Legal representation status
- Willingness to relocate to Fort Worth
- Any urgent barriers or special circumstances
If you do not have all of this information, you may still submit a referral.
If the family wishes to submit an application themselves first, they can do so here.
What Happens After a Referral Is Submitted?
After receiving a referral, the DASH team reviews the information provided and may follow up with additional questions, documentation requests, and request an application be filled out by the family directly.
Because housing availability is limited, acceptance into the program is not guaranteed.
Does DASH Accept Emergency Placements?
DASH is not an emergency shelter.
Our long-term housing model requires an application and review process. Individuals experiencing an immediate housing crisis should also seek local emergency housing resources in their area.
Who Is Eligible for DASH Housing?
DASH provides housing and support for eligible asylum seekers and families willing to relocate to Fort Worth.
Eligibility depends on several factors, including immigration status, housing needs, program fit, and available housing capacity.
For detailed eligibility information, visit our Eligibility Requirements page.
Ready to Refer Someone?
Submit a referral using our Referral Form.
If the family is ready to submit an application on their own, they can also do that.
Our team is grateful for the attorneys, churches, nonprofits, and advocates who help connect asylum-seeking families with housing and support. Please email any additional questions you have to hello@dashnetwork.net.
