Advocate for Asylum Seekers

At DASH Network, advocacy isn’t about politics — it’s about people. We are a nonpartisan organization, and we believe advocacy flows directly from our call to love our neighbors as Christ loves us. Walking closely with families navigating the asylum system, we see firsthand how laws and policies affect real lives made in the image of God. Our desire is to promote immigration practices that reflect dignity, truth, compassion, and the biblical call to welcome the stranger.

Ways to Engage

Become informed — then help shift the narrative.

  • Read honest, grounded resources about asylum, refugee stories, and the realities of migration.

  • Share articles, podcasts, and social posts with your community to dispel myths and foster empathy.

  • Center your social media, sermons, small-group conversations, and family life on compassion and truth.

  • Explore resources from organizations we love such as Ground News MediaWe Choose Welcome and World Relief

Your voice matters. Use it.

  • Find your representatives using an easy lookup tool (such as Common Cause) and send a kind, respectful email or call.

  • Use ready-made scripts and action prompts from organizations like We Choose Welcome or World Relief to speak out for humane immigration policies.

  • Encourage your friends, church, or small group to do the same. Multiply your impact with more voices standing together.

See it. Witness it. Show up.

  • Participate in court-observation efforts like the Vecinos Unidos program, which allows volunteers to attend and monitor hearings, promoting transparency and justice for asylum seekers.

  • Attend community forums, church-hosted “welcome” events, or local immigrant-justice gatherings in your city.

  • Standing together in presence and prayer helps refugees and asylum seekers feel welcomed, seen, and supported.

Faith communities have power to welcome — and change hearts.

  • Share our mission with your church leadership. Invite them to consider hosting or sponsoring asylum-seeking families, volunteering, or partnering with us.

  • Organize a church immigration-focus small group, or a “welcome meal” night, or letter-writing to lawmakers.

  • Want to start a conversation in your church? Email us at jill@dashnetwork.net and we’d gladly walk alongside you as you invite leaders into this vision of welcome and dignity.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Advocacy doesn’t look the same for everyone — and that’s okay. Some people learn. Some speak. Some show up. Others bring their church, their table, or their prayers.

At DASH Network, we believe faithfulness begins with seeing people clearly and responding with compassion, humility, and courage. Whether you take one small step or many, your willingness to engage helps create a more welcoming and humane response for families seeking safety.

Thank you for caring, for learning, and for choosing to love your neighbor in meaningful ways.
