Volunteer for a One-Time Need

Help with event set-up or tear down, cook/cater a meal for staff and resident gatherings, run a supply drive for needed items; small groups can serve together at a Sunday Supper.

Provide Hospitality and Support

Areas of need include meals to welcome new DASH family members or bless residents in times of special need; housing related service such as cleaning or refreshing apartments or transporting furniture, or assisting with maintenance.

Connect with Residents

Serve by providing transportation or childcare, teaching English, organizing/attending resident activities, or translating or interpreting.

Become an Advocate

Get trained to build a supportive friendship with an individual or a family seeking asylum and assist them with acclimating to their new life in the U.S.

• ESL Sub/Teacher: Help teach residents how to speak English or become a substitute teacher so residents can continue the important work of understanding English. Teachers are needed Wednesdays from 10am-12:15pm and substitutes are needed occasionally on Tuesdays and Fridays.

• Engagement: Childcare for two babies during English language classes – Wednesday mornings from 10:00 AM to 12:15 PM.

• One Time Serve: cook or cater a monthly DASH family lunch or dinner (or donate to provide these meals!)
